About Alzheimer Scotland

Alzheimer Scotland is Scotland’s national dementia charity. Our aim is to make sure nobody faces dementia alone. We provide support and information to people with dementia, their carers and families, we campaign for the rights of people with dementia and fund vital dementia research. We also support people all over Scotland to understand and maintain their brain health.

We have Dementia Centres (including 12 Brain Health and Dementia Centres) in 25 different locations across Scotland. Those centres provide a safe and friendly environment for people with dementia and their carers to visit and take part in a wide variety of activity groups.

We are proud of our 24 hour Freephone Dementia Helpline (0808 808 3000) which provides information and emotional support to people with dementia, carers, families, friends and professionals.

Our National Dementia Advisor Service is wholly funded by Alzheimer Scotland from the generous donations and fundraising activities of our thousands of supporters. The service is available from 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday and aims to provide a responsive, high quality information, advice and advocacy service relating to all aspects of brain health and dementia.

I would like to thank you so much for the enormous help you gave me fighting in our corner and never giving up for us. I couldn’t have done this without you and will never be able to express the gratitude for you. You are one in a million and I will never forget what you have done for us.

The groups are a good laugh. It always feels really friendly and easy. You can feel so isolated and alone when you have to cope with dementia. We’ve already had such good support from Alzheimer Scotland. The groups are the highlight of our week.
