My story

I’m taking on Scotland’s Memory Walk for Alzheimer Scotland.
In Loving Memory of Tam Welsh. We are raising money for Alzheimer's Scotland and support in loving memory of our dad, Tam who passed away on 23/08/2025.Dad was a kind, funny, wonderful man who brought so much joy to our lives. Watching Alzheimer's take a person piece by piece is heartbreaking. We want to fight back so other families do not have to feel this pain.

Tam, born in fifty, quick on his feet,
Football in school — exams he’d defeat.
He met Marie and said “I do,”
Sharon arrived next year, sunshine anew.

Susanne in eighty-seven did show,
Master of Lodge Scotia by ninety-four’s glow.
Rangers fan through thick and through thin,
In finance he worked — with discipline
Through trials of life he stood so tall
a guiding light respected by all.

Retired to The Gables, a pub all his own,
Christmas and New Year with laughter were thrown.
A pint was his nectar, stubborn as stone—
Always had to be right; that’s how he was known.

Alzheimer’s came creeping to challenge his mind,
Sly little thief no one could bind.
Through all our days he remained a friend
A Loyal husband until the end
The best of dads—no doubt or jest—
Loved and missed, now laid to rest.
Raise a pint! For Tam’s grand fight:
Stubborn heart that shone so bright.
